The Escaped Slave is a character theme introduced in Dragon Magazine article Slaves of Athas. [Dr18]. It represents characters that were enslaved, but have escaped their former masters.

Features[]

  • Escaped slaves gain training in the Bluff skill, and the Hidden Strike power.
  • There are no special abilities gained, only additional power choices at appropriate levels.

Escaped Slave Powers[]

  • No Bonds Can Hold (level 2 utility)
  • Repel the Siege (level 3 encounter)
  • Turn the Tables (level 5 daily)
  • Wary Defense (level 6 utility)
  • Astonishing Wound (level 7 encounter)
  • Who Is Master Now (level 9 attack)
  • Opportune Distraction (level 10 utility00

Escaped Slave feats[]

  • Master of Escape: +4 feat bonus to open locks, use slight of hand, and attempts to escape from a grab or restraints.
  • Slave Sympathy: +4 feat to streetwise in any settlement with a significant population of slaves, +2 feat bonus to bluff, diplomacy, intimidate and sense motive checks when using these skills on a slave.
  • Slave to None: +2 feat bonus to saving throws against effects that dominate, immobilize or slow.
