The Forgotten Realms Player's Guide is a Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition rules supplement published in September 2008 to support play in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, which was originally designed by Ed Greenwood. It is to be used in part with the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide.
This 160-paged book provides new options specific to the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for 4th edition player characters. The players can create new characters using the new Swordmage class, new races like the Drow (Dark Elves) and Genasi (Elemental Planetouched Humanoids), paragon paths, and feats.
Rob Heinsoo led the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide game design, with Logan Bonner and Robert J. Schwalb also credited on the cover for design. Developers include Stephen Schubert as their lead, Mike Mearls, Rodney Thompson, Andy Collins, and Jeremy Crawford. William O'Connor was the front cover illustrator.
