Human is a player character race in Dungeons & Dragons 4th edition as one of the core races in the Player's Handbook.[PH:46][HotFL:272][HotFK:264]

Racial traits[]



  • Bonus Feat: You gain a bonus feat at 1st level. You still must meet the feat’s prerequisites.
  • Bonus Skill: You gain training in one additional skill (any skill, not just from your class skill list).
  • Human Defense Bonuses: +1 to Fortitude, Reflex, and Will defenses.
  • Your choice of:
    • Bonus At-Will Power: You know one extra 1st-level at-will attack power from your class.[U :6/2008]
    • Heroic Effort: You have the heroic effort racial utility power.

Favored classes[]

Humans are very versatile due to the flexibility of choice granted by their features, and can easily be of any class.

Human feats[]

These feats have the human race as a prerequisite. Half-elves with the Dual Heritage racial trait and muls who select the human race for their Born of Two Races racial trait can also take these feats. Additional prerequisites are noted.
