wizard utility 10

area wall 8 within 20 squares up to 4 squares high

Effect: Illusory wall creates a wall until the end of the creator's next turn. While the wall persists, squares within the wall block line of sight for the creator's enemies, and the wall's creator may make the following attack.

Trigger: an enemy moves adjacent to the wall
Target: the triggering enemy
Attack: Intelligence vs. Will
Hit: The target cannot move through the wall this turn.

Miss: The target's line of sight and movement are no longer blocked by the wall for the remainder of the encounter.

Sustain minor: The wall persists.

Illusory wall is a 10th-level wizard daily utility power. It creates a wall that blocks line of sight for enemies, and grants its creator an attack that can prevent enemy movement through the wall. The wall lasts for one round, but its creator can sustain it with a minor action until the end of the encounter.

Illusory wall was originally published in the "Class Acts: Wizard" article about illusion powers by Rodney Thompson in Dragon #364.[Dr364:69] Illusory wall was republished in Arcane Power clarifying the sustain entry, but having an encounter instead of daily usage, missing the implement keyword, and not specifying that a free action is used for the attack or allowing targets to save against the attack's effect.[AP:107] The implement keyword was returned and the usage corrected back to daily in the April 2009 update.[U :4/2009] The November 2009 update specified the initial duration for the wall is until the end of the creator's next turn.[U :11/2009]
