Loading a longbow is a free action requiring the use of both hands.
Bards, blackguards, cavaliers, fighters, rangers, and seekers are proficient with all military ranged weapons, including the longbow. Warlords who select the Archer Warlord class feature gain proficiency with all military ranged weapons, including the longbow. Elves gain proficiency with the longbow as a racial trait.
Other classes and races do not have proficiency with the longbow as a class or racial trait, but any character can become proficient by taking a Weapon Proficiency feat.
