Backgrounds

As part of the adventure path, characters may obtain one of the following backgrounds. These backgrounds are slightly more powerful than backgrounds later introduced, as they generally add skills to the class skill list, or provide a notable benefit.

Background Benefit
Wandering Duelist Intimidate is a class skill and you get +3 to intimidate checks.
Scorned Noble +2 bonus to saving throws if no allies are within 5 squares of you.
Redemption Seeker Add Diplomacy and Insight to class skills. +1 to Diplomacy and Insight.
Seeker for the Lost Clan Add History and Dungeoneering to class skills. +1 to History and Dungeoneering.
Warsmith Can cast creation rituals as if you have Ritual Caster feat. May also construct weapons and armor in two days (costs the same as purchasing).
Brother in Battle Add endurance to class list. +3 to endurance checks.
Seducer Add Bluff and Insight to class skill list. +1 to Bluff and Insight.
Magic Scholar Add Arcana and History to class skill list. +1 to Arcana and History.
Eldritch Harlequin Add Bluff and Thievery to class skill list. +1 bonus to Bluff and Thievery.

Former Gladiator Can survive for four failed death saving throws.
Haunted Veteran Once per encounter, reroll a failed saving throw against a fear effect.
Former Barbarian Add Nature to class skill list, and gain a +1 bonus to Nature checks.
Prison Conversion Add Streetwise to class skill list, and gain a +3 bonus to Streetwise checks.
Crusading Zealot Gain a +1 bonus to saving throws until you fail a saving throw. The bonus is gone until you rest.
Trained from Birth for a Specific Prophecy Once per day, you can reroll an initiative check if you don't like the result. You keep the second result whether it's better, the same or worse.
