The walk action is a move action a creature can take to move up to its speed.[PH:292][RC:252]

The walk action describes the distance moved during a turn rather than any specific mode of movement. A walk action can involve climbing, flying, or swimming.

Walk actions provoke opportunity attacks if the walking creature leaves a square adjacent to an enemy. To avoid provoking opportunity attacks, a creature should instead shift out of squares adjacent to enemies.

The run action allows a creature to move 2 squares more than a walk action, subject to certain penalties.
